Fat farms in Mauritania

In Mauritania, there are some diferencies between the criterias of beauty in urban areas and rural areas.
In urban areas, the criterias have changed, women have to loose weight and to be slim, in contrary to rural areas where women still have archaic traditions. They have to be fat to get married, because they don't have access to school and getting a husband is their only chance to have a future. For the girls to be overweight, their mothers forcefeed them with four bowls of milk per day, even if the children become sick and vomit what they drunk.  To prevent them for vomitting, mothers twist their fingers in such a way that the pain will make them forget about their sickness.
In this country, 22% of girls are forcefed.
